Semi Accident

Around 15.5 million semi trucks operate in the US, and every year roughly 140,000 of them are involved in a semi accident. These are serious accidents that are statistically much more dangerous than normal passenger vehicle accidents, due to the size and weight of semi trucks. And given that size, even low speed accidents can have catastrophic consequences. Most deaths and injuries in these crashes are suffered by those in the passenger vehicles, and often times, semi drivers emerge from accidents with little or no injuries. Up to 80% of semi accidents are the fault of other vehicles. When a semi driver is at fault, the common causes are driver fatigue, mechanical failure, overloaded or unbalanced trailers, brake failure, tire blowouts and driving while under the influence of alcohol.
